A.T. my kitty drools on the rare ocassion that she lets you pet her. She will lay on you chest and after you have been petting her then she will start to drool a bit.

I think they do that when they're excited to see you, but it could also indicate some dental problem if they're doing it when it's not cuddle time.
It's best to give cats dried food as it helps to keep their teeth clean - either that or brush them! (but I wouldn't fancy that)!!!!! *LOL*

She does eat dry food. I wouldn't have a hand left if I tried to brush her teeth. The vet doesn't like her that much, she bites him everytime she is in there.

When I had my mental crazy 20 lb cat, the vet told me to brush his teeth. I told the vet ....NO WAY!!! Im sorry his teeth can fall out befor I try to shove some thing he doesnt like in his mouth! I mean... come on....we all know how claws and teeth feel in the flesh! I dont think he needed his teeth brushed that much. The vet wouldnt even do it and she tells me to, I dont think so!!! not today!!! LOL!

Speeking of cat storys yesterday I was at my local mall and there was this woman walking around with a cat. I was surprised to see it because I dont see many people out carrying thier cats around. I wonder what the laws are with cats in the mall, I know there is no dogs allowed.

Last time I was at the vets I saw a woman carry her cat in. Great big thing it was......it seemed to be enjoying a cuddle *LOL*

My cat wants nothing to do with the outside. She will stand by the door when its open while we are carrying in groceries but she won't go out. It's like she "KNOWS" she has it far more better inside these four walls. I guess this means she's very content with her living arrangements! Once in awhile if we are outside, she will come to the door and look out at us and cry and if we open the door for her she will either turn and run or she will cautiously step out onto the porch just for a brief second and then turns and leaps back inside,as if saying,"o.k.,that's enough of an adventure for me!!" Lol

Lizzi thats good your cat doesnt want to go out, its a lot healthier for them to stay in doors. My cats where all in door out door they came and whent as they pleased. One day my 17 year old dissapeard, I never found him! Not to mention all the infectins he got due to fights with other cats.

My eldest cat comes and goes as she pleases. She pretty much stays around our gardens - in the bad weather she just pops out for a wee/poo then comes back in quickly!

The kitten hasn't wandered off - he's just staying around the garden too :-)

My cat Nelly always comes home from a night of prowling scuffed up. I continually have to doctor him up! My hubby made me put him outside because he was spraying everywhere!! I didn't get him fixed. My bad...I know!! He was supposed to have been an indoor kitty!! I'm still pissed about it 2 yrs. later!!

Have you had him fixed now? It's just a minor op. He'll be fine.

Name: Lory | Date: Jan 12th, 2007 12:39 AM
No A.S. he hasn't been fixed yet! BAD MOMMA!!! I doctor him up on a regular basis! I just "assumed" he is too old!! Do you really think he'll be okay if I take him now? Poor guy! He's so pretty to have been put out!! He's really a big ol' baby!! Still pissed!!!!!!

Lory, do you know that he can catch so many diseases due to not beeing neutered? Not to mention they dont stray as far, so there for you dont have to go looking far for them. It is also safer for them, they are less likely to get hit by a car due to roaming.

atomic, My cats had a cat door they could come and go as they pleased. The cat I have now I keep her indoors, I dont want her to come up missing like one of my past cats did. My cat that came up missing was Sunny he was 17, he went out one night and I never saw him again! My hart still aches for him.

He'll be fine if you have him fixed now. Age is no barrier.

Name: Lory | Date: Jan 12th, 2007 3:42 PM
I will be trying to get him in soon!! I think him and I will feel much better! Thanks!!

My mother-in-law used to have a cat that wanted out so bad he literally kicked the bedroom window screen out!!!!! She was so fed up with trying to search for him time and time again that one day when he escaped she just didn't bother lookiing for him and hasn't seen him since. This was years ago and since then she's moved anyway!

I have a doggie/cat door. I had to block it bc we live in a rural area. Everything under the sun was trying to get in!! We have some pretty scary looking raccoons out here! lol

Lory I had squirrels peeking in mine, and my cats would bring in mice, rats, chipmunks, moles and birds.

Does any of you ladies have a cat with alergies? My cat is tearing at her skin so bad that there are chunks of fur all over the place. She also has a patch of dry scaby skin down her back! I put her on prednisone for the itch. The poor thing is so itchy, all she does is scratch. The meds should help soon, I hope any way!

Name: Lizzi | Date: Jan 15th, 2007 5:29 PM
Yeah atomic, her cat wanted away from it's nutty owner!!! Lol

I don't know anything about cat itchiness. Has the vet done any skin scrapings? It could be fungal.

My kitten has been eating the tassels from my cushions in the lounge!!!!!!! He's now passing poo with bits of red wool in it!!!!!!!!!!!!! He seems okay.

Name: Lizzi | Date: Jan 16th, 2007 3:45 PM
Ewww! Atomic! Speaking of though my cat once had silver tinsle in her poo from the x-mas tree! She also likes any kind of clear wrappers like from a cigarette pack or from a candy cane! During x-mas time we would hear her munching on something and see something sticking out of her mouth. Upon closer inspection we would pull it out and it would be this long candy cane wrapper that she already had half way down her throat! I swear I think she thought she was being starved or something! Lol

O.K. my cat is now standing on top of a box spinning round and round chasing her tail! Lol She's so cool! :)
