no you don't really have to be worried, just take to an obedience class. and put baby stuff on the floor so she gets the feel of babies. dogs are usually great around babies. just give your dog and baby the same attention so it doesnt get jealous.

It isnt too late to begin training her to stop jumping. it is not a good idea to allow her to jump, she wont understand that a baby means not to jump. that is a grey area for dogs, and they dont respond well to grey areas. they see things as black and white, they can or they cant. they dont understand that they can when the baby isnt aroud, but when that baby is around that they cant. And also if you are pregnant, it is not a good idea to have a jumping dog. she could hurt youor the baby, and not realize it. please start trainng her now, for the both of you.

I hope everyone who is reading this has or will spay or neuter your pet. No matter a cat or dog.... don't help grow the unwanted pet population!!!

I am expecting a baby in Febuary. Pits that are raised around kids are usually good with kids, obviously. We are kind of worried about our 1 year old female. She's not mean, but she's just got a little attitude, and she gets all the attention from me. We have a 2 year old male who is going to be no problem. He loves people and thinks he is one. It all depends on the dog. A friend of ours has a cocker spaniel that bit her son and she had to get rid of him. It all depends on the dog and how you raise them and their temperament.

but pits are truly loyal and protective of kids most of the time in other families I've seen with them.

My boyfriend bred our female with an American Bulldog. He weighs about 90 pounds and out pit is approximatley 60 pounds. She is white with black and gold brindle and the male is mostly white with a couple of black and gold brindle spots. If anyone is interested let me know. They will be ready to go a week or two before Christmas. Thanks!

no... you would be surprised at how gentle they are around babys and small children. i have an amstaff that is just GO GO GO GO GO... but when i had my daughter, even if he was playing really rough... he would instantly drop to the ground and end the play if she was around. give him a chance to show you how gentle he really is.
