| I am looking at adopting a Boxer/Pitbull mix and i have alot of mixed feelings about pit bulls. My husbands parents dog was attached by a young pitbull this summer and almost killed. But on the other hand i love the boxer breed. I would like to here from you and get your opinion on the mixed breed and its temperment. Please don't hold back with any horror stories either i want to know everything i can about this mix breed before i attempt to adopt one. ↑ |

| Welcome to the world of bully breeds. I have two pit bulls, one female and one male. The best advise I can give you is make sure you start as soon as possible. My Star was thirteen weeks old when I got her and the people I got her from were a little questionable so I got her puppy shots redone in case they didn't. So I couldn't bring her aroun d other dogs until she wasfive months and she had already started to dislike other dogs. She loves my Dallas but not any other dogs. Best of luck. ↑ |

| Socialize, socialize, socialize. Take your puppy all over the place and introduce him/her to all sorts of people and situations. By doing this now when your puppy is small, you can avoid problems down the line. I would also suggest joining a training class when the puppy is old enough. Petsmart has classes and also there are often local classes offered by obedience clubs. Good luck! With early training and socialization your puppy will grow up to be a good dog. ↑ |

| I just got an eight week old boxer/pit, and my fiancee and i also have a two year old boxer/ rot. even though the puppy is still very young, you can tell she is very smart. They can be stubborn, but they attach themselves to you. she never likes me and my fiance out of her site. She relies on us, but the pit in her also wants to make sure we are safe. These dogs as puppies are very playful, and stay playful all their life, but you can see as they start to grow, how much they want to protect you. they would lay down their lives for you. These are great dogs to have. Alot of people are hesitant to get anything that has pit bull in it, because of stories...but these storys can come with any dog, you just hear more about pits because alot of people train them to fight (which i do disagree with). However, they are naturally protective, and also very sweet. these are great dogs. even after having them for a few days, you can see how smart and loyal and sweet they are. ↑ |

| There is a little pitt/boxer mix living behind my house. He's around six months old. The people who own him NEVER EVER EVER play with him. The only evidence I have of them is a slightly cracked door one time, and I have been home in my backyard all Summer. I think they must just feed him and thats it. He's totally neglected and starved for human contact, as the mix is so social. It breaks my heart. I have been playing with him over the fence as much as I can, but I am afraid he is going to climb over; his claws are incredibly long, like a cats. When he sees me he is so happy.....I really want this littly guy to have a home with people who will love and adore him. He is already bonding pretty intensely to me, which is not the best, as I am just a neighbor. I called the Humane Society to see if there was anything I could do to rescue him from being neglected. They said there was nothing to be done; it's not illegal to get a dog and abandon him in the back yard if he has food and shelter (a muddy bottom dog house, I checked). I am planning on talking to the owners, but I don't want to upset them.....see if maybe I can take him on walks or something.....I don't know. I was also going to see if maybe they want to sell/give him to me. I am willing to try and find him another home. I just can't stand to see him sitting there, looking through the fence at me with those sad, confused but eager and hopeful eyes. By the way, he is a really gorgeous dog, beautiful coat, beautiful face. He will be on the bigger side, by the looks of his paws, and he has an amazing personality; playful and happy. All he wants is someone to love and to play with him. I have taught him sit and stay. He is remarkably smart. If I can get his "owners" to part with him, he is going to need a new home. If anyone knows anyone, or could take him personally, please let me know. The alternative is that he just sits out the rest of his life in the backyard.....which is also a possibility if his people are as cold as they seem. ↑ |

| I have a 4 year old pitbull/boxer mix up for adoption because I don't have the time to get him out as much as he needs. Just a large yard won't be suffice, he needs lots of walks. He is neutered, and microchip, good with our parakeets, good with submissive dogs, excellent with children. He needs to be an only dog. Will be on guard with bad intentioned people.
